Adipi, Calvin lead way in Caribbean Cup semifinal Best XI

MIAMI, Florida – The semifinals of the 2023 Concacaf Caribbean Cup came to an exciting conclusion on Thursday night.

There were many excellent individual performances over the course of the four games, yet these 11 players stood out the most at their respective positions.

Goalkeeper  

Vino Barclett, Cavalier – Barclett delivered two clean sheets for Cavalier, making nine saves and two clearances for his side.

Defenders  

Manuel Vidal, Moca – A player who earned Best XI honors in the group stage, Vidal continued his stellar play in the semifinals with two steals while completing 81 percent of his passes.

Gadail Irving, Cavalier – Another key defensive member of Cavalier that helped keep two clean sheets, Irving had four steals in 191 minutes played.

Jeovanni Laing, Cavalier – Laing was also excellent in defense for Cavalier and chipped in with one of the goals in the 5-0 first leg victory against Harbour View.

Midfielders

Renske Adipi, Robinhood – At the center of nearly every Robinhood attack was Adipi by completing 85 percent of his passes. He also had three steals.

Dwayne Allen, Cavalier – Allen was a factor at both ends of the field, scoring in the first leg against Harbour View and then making three steals in defense.

Richard Dabas, Moca – No player has a higher passing completion percentage than Dabas, who finished at 94 percent over the two games. He made five steals as well.

Franklin Singodikromo, Robinhood – Singodikromo’s moment of magic in second half stoppage time got Robinhood to their winning penalty shootout against Moca.

Forwards

Gustavo Ascona, Moca – Ascona calmly and coolly scored the Moca goal in their 1-0 first leg win via the penalty spot. He chipped in with two steals, too.

Jalmaro Calvin, Cavalier – Calvin was his usual playmaking self on the flanks for Cavalier, scoring a goal of his own in the first leg while recording three shots.

Shaniel Thomas, Cavalier – Thomas added to his tournament-leading goal total in the first leg, giving him eight on the campaign. He also had two steals.
