Cavalier advance to Caribbean Cup Final, qualify for Champions Cup

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Cavalier FC won 7-nil against Moca FC in the second leg of their semifinal’s series in the 2024 Concacaf Caribbean Cup on Wednesday at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica.

Kaile Auvray put the hosts in the lead in the 1' with a left-footed strike from long range out on the left flank.

Shaquille Stein extended the lead for Cavalier in the 6' with a header inside the box to connect on a cross from Jalmaro Calvin.

Christopher Ainsworth converted from the penalty spot in the 39' to further the lead for the home side.

Shaquille Stein struck again in the 45'+3 as the Jamaican club took a four-goal lead into halftime.

Moca goalkeeper Miguel Báez received a red card in the 45'+5. Pascual Ramírez took over in goal after entering for Víctor Sánchez to start the second half. Jesús Correa also received a red card, leaving Moca to play the second half with nine players.

Kaile Auvray collected his brace in the 51' with a shot from outside the box.

Shaquille Stein completed his hat-trick in the 62' to extend the lead by six. Stein improved his tally to seven and is leading scorer in the tournament.

Dwayne Atkinson penned his name on the scoresheet in the 79' from a penalty kick attempt to complete the Cavalier victory.

Runners-up in the 2023 edition, Cavalier FC sealed a return to the Caribbean Cup final for a consecutive occasion. The Jamaican side also clinched its participation in the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup with the 7-nil aggregate.

Moca FC moves on to the third place series which will decide the third berth to the Champions Cup from the Caribbean region.
