MIAMI, Florida – A spot in the 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup will be on the line on Tuesday as Harbour View of Jamaica host Moca of the Dominican Republic in the first leg of the 2023 Concacaf Caribbean Cup Third-Place Match at Sabina Park Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica.
Both teams have enjoyed very good campaigns in the tournament but succumbed in the semifinal round.
Harbour View finished in second-place in Group B before falling 5-0 on aggregate to fellow Jamaican side Cavalier in the semifinals.
Match Officials Harbour View vs Moca FC
Moca were the second-place team from Group A and nearly reached the Final, only to concede a late equalizer to Surinamese club Robinhood in the second leg and lose in a penalty shootout.
Nevertheless, a chance to book a place in Round One of the 2024 Champions Cup is there for the taking.
Harbour View have gotten great contributions from their dynamic duo of Shaquiel Bradford and Omar Thompson, who have combined to score five of the team’s six goals in the tournament.
Moca’s main men have been Gustavo Ascona, who has three goals, including the Moca goal in the semifinals, and Victor Sanchez, who had three goals during the group stage. Moca were also very stingy in the group stage, allowing just three goals.
A good start will be imperative for either side to put themselves into position to clinch a Champions Cup berth next week in the second leg.
