MIAMI, Florida – It will be a showdown in Group B on Wednesday night as Harbour View of Jamaica host Suriname’s Robinhood in 2023 Concacaf Caribbean Cup action at Independence Park in Kingston, Jamaica.
These two teams currently sit atop the group, with 2023 Concacaf Caribbean Club Shield winners Robinhood with six points after two games, while Harbour View have a win and a draw through two matches, giving them four points.
Robinhood are getting contributions from all parts of the field. Shield top scorer Shaquille Cairo has been just as good in the Caribbean Cup, scoring all three of Robinhood’s goals in the 1-0 win versus Cibao and the 2-0 victory at Dunbeholden.
Helping Cairo in attack in a big way has been Tuur Don, who has registered two assists in addition to four shots taken. GK Jonathan Fonkel has been an anchor in the back. Look no further than his 12-save performance in the clean sheet win against Dunbeholden.
Harbour View opened the tournament with a 1-0 triumph over fellow Jamaican club Dunbeholden before battling to scrappy 1-1 draw last week with Atletico Pantoja.
Not only did DF Gavin Burton supply the goal in the win against Dunbeholden, but he has made 21 passes in 116 minutes of action.
Jahshaun Anglin has completed 91 percent of his passes, plus has made five ball recoveries, while Omar Thompson provided a big offensive lift in the last outing with a well-taken goal against Atletico Pantoja.
