Miscellaneous Police FC earns first win in Caribbean Cup

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad and Tobago – Miscellaneous Police FC won 2-1 against Arnett Gardens in Group A of the 2024 Concacaf Caribbean Cup on Thursday at Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.

Kimani Arbouine had an attempt for the visitors in the 10’ but was denied by the left post.

Kevon Woodley had a header towards goal in the 32’ but was denied off the crossbar.

Arbouine struck inside the box, from the right side of the box, but hit the outside of the right post in the 36’ as the teams would remain deadlocked into halftime.

Joevin Jones opened the scoring in the 47' with a shot inside the penalty arc to pace the hosts in the lead.

Warner Brown equalized in the 49' with a right-footed shot towards the left corner of the net.

Ezekiel Kesar scored the match-winner in the 84' to pounce on a blocked attempt from Arnett Gardens goalkeeper Richard White.

Police FC improved its record to 1-1-1 and continues in the race for a top two spot with four points. The club shifts its focus to its fourth and final match of the group stage against Mount Pleasant FA next Thursday. 

Arnett Gardens has two remaining matches to seek its place in the next round. The club will face Real Hope next Wednesday at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica.
