MOCA, Dominican Republic – Moca FC and Cavalier FC played to a scoreless draw in the first leg of their semifinal series in the 2024 Concacaf Caribbean Cup on Thursday at Estadio Moca 85 in Moca, Dominican Republic.

Jerome McLeary had a look from long range in the 26' but was just over the mark as the visitors attempted to take the lead.

Dwayne Atkinson struck a low shot from a free kick in the 31’ but Moca goalkeeper Miguel Báez blocked the attempt.

Clifford Thomas tried his luck from outside the box in the 51' in the best attempt from the hosts.

Atkinson attempted a strike from close range in the 55' but Báez cut off the space to make the stop. The Cavalier man tried to get on frame from outside the box in the 65' but put too much force behind his attempt, sending the ball over the crossbar.

Atkinson nearly had the dramatic match-winner in the 90’ but his strike inside the box veered just wide of the right post.

Miguel Báez finished the match with two saves to collect his second clean sheet of the campaign. Cavalier goalkeeper Vino Barclett collected his first clean sheet in the 2024 edition.

The two clubs will meet in the second leg on October 30 at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica. The winner on aggregate will advance to the Caribbean Cup Final and clinch a berth in the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup.
