Real Hope, Mount Pleasant eye last semifinal spot in Caribbean Cup

MIAMI – One spot in the semifinals will be at stake as the group stage concludes in the 2024 Concacaf Caribbean Cup with doubleheaders on Tuesday and Thursday.

Cavalier FC has secured one of the top two spots in Group A, while Mount Pleasant and Real Hope will meet to decide the other berth in a winner-take-all scenario. In Group B, Moca FC and Cibao FC have advanced and will seek to win their respective encounters to claim the top seed.

Grenades FC vs. Moca FC

Grenades FC meets Moca FC in Group B on Tuesday at Estadio Moca 85 at Moca, Dominican Republic.

Sitting in third place with two points, Grenades FC cannot advance to the semifinals but will seek to exit the tournament with its first win of the campaign. Sherman Augustin, Sean Tomlinson, Quinton Griffith, and Malcolm Stewart lead the club in scoring with a goal each.

Moca FC will seek to gain home field in the semifinals with a victory, and a better goal difference than domestic rival Cibao. Gustavo Ascona leads the team in scoring with two goals. Goalkeeper Miguel Báez has one clean sheet and 13 saves.

Cibao FC vs. Ouanaminthe FC

Cibao FC hosts Ouanaminthe FC in Group B on Tuesday at Estadio Cibao FC in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.

Controlling its own destiny, Cibao FC will seek to win and better Moca’s result earlier in the day to finish first place in the group. Jean López and Rivaldo Correa lead the team with two goals each, the latter scoring a brace in the previous encounter with AC Port of Spain. Goalkeeper Miguel Lloyd has one clean sheet and seven saves.

Haitian club Ouanaminthe FC seeks to finish its campaign with its first victory. Joseph Willinx leads the team with three goals, including a brace in the previous match. Fredelin Philistin is the only other scorer for the club with one goal.

Arnett Gardens FC vs. Cavalier FC

Arnett Gardens FC hosts Cavalier FC in Group A at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica.

This year’s CFU Club Shield winners, Arnett Gardens FC seek to finish the group stage with a victory. Shai Smith and Warner Brown have each scored a goal for the club and will look to increase their tally in their tournament finale.

Cavalier FC secured its place in the semifinals with two victories in its first three matches. A win will seal a first-place finish. Shaquille Stein and Dwayne Atkinson lead the scoring for the team with three goals apiece.

Mount Pleasant FA vs. Real Hope FA

Mount Pleasant FA meets Real Hope FA in Group A at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica. Both teams control their destiny with a trip to the semifinals on the line and first place potentially in reach with a Cavalier loss.

The hosts will look to their home field to collect their second victory of the campaign. Jahshaun Anglin and Kimoni Bailey have scored the team’s only goals. Goalkeeper Shaquan Davis has one clean sheet and five saves in the past two appearances.

Real Hope FA is one point behind the first-place spot with one win and two draws and is the only team in the group yet to be defeated. Angelo Exilus, Rikanel Chery and Steeve Mondestin have combined for the team’s three goals. Goalkeeper Gooly Elien has one clean sheet and six saves in three appearances.
