MIAMI – The 2024 Concacaf Central American Cup continues with the last first leg encounter of the quarterfinals on Thursday, as the remaining eight teams compete to be crowned champions in early December.
Reigning champion LD Alajuelense continues its title as they go on the road against Comunicaciones FC. Both clubs will look to take an essential first step towards the semifinals and secure a berth in the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup.
Comunicaciones FC vs. LD Alajuelense
Comunicaciones will host Alajuelense at Estadio Cementos Progreso in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
This will be the second encounter between the sides in the 2024 edition. Alajuelense won 2-1 in Group B on August 27 in Costa Rica.
Comunicaciones is undefeated in its last four CCAC home games. The Guatemalan side also enters the match having lost just once in its previous six tournament meetings. Diego Casas leads the team with two goals in the group stage.
LD Alajuelense boasts an impressive unbeaten record across 14 CCAC matches, with 11 wins and three draws. The Costa Rican outfit won its four-group stage matches and advanced to the quarterfinals as Group B leaders. Diego Campos is the tournament’s leading scorer with five goals.
