MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup Quarterfinals saw Inter Miami CF advance to its first tournament semifinals with contributions from its Game-Changer Lionel Messi.

Inter Miami CF won 3-2 on aggregate against LAFC to become the 14th MLS side to secure a CCC semifinals berth. Messi sparked the comeback effort by helping the South Florida side overcome a two-goal deficit on aggregate in the second leg.

 

Messi reached seven CCC career goals, becoming the second-oldest player to do so since the 2008–09 season at 37 years, 9 months, and 16 days

 

The 37-year-old forward contributed on offense and defense with two goals, six shots on target and 19 duels won as he featured the full 180 minutes in the series. The Argentine legend is currently second in the top scorer race with five goals, extending his tally with a brace in the second leg victory.

Messi reached seven CCC career goals, becoming the second-oldest player to do so since the 2008–09 season at 37 years, 9 months, and 16 days. Honduran legend Carlos Pavón holds the record at 37 years, 11 months, and 12 days, scoring on September 21, 2011, for Real España against Colorado Rapids.
