GUADALAJARA, Mexico – With the start of the 2018 Liga MX Clausura weeks away and the 2018 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League on the horizon, Guadalajara announced Thursday the acquisition of striker Ronaldo Cisneros on a transfer from Santos.

The 20-year-old has yet to score in nine career Liga MX matches, making his debut against Pumas on October 24, 2014.

Considered one of the rising young attacking talents in Mexican football, Cisneros has starred with Mexico’s youth national teams.

At the 2017 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship in Costa Rica, Cisneros took home the Golden Boot Award as the tournament’s leading scorer with six goals. He was also named to the Best XI in helping Mexico qualify for the 2017 FIFA Under-20 World Cup.

At the Under-20 World Cup in South Korea, Cisneros found the back of the net twice, netting the game-winning goal in Mexico’s 1-0 victory over Senegal in the Round of 16.
