MIAMI, Florida – This week the two teams that will play in the 2021 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League Final will be determined by the results of the semifinal second legs.

On Wednesday, the Philadelphia Union will host Club America in hopes of overturning a 2-0 deficit on aggregate, while on Thursday, Cruz Azul will welcome in fellow Liga MX club Monterrey with Rayados ahead 1-0 on aggregate.

The 2021 SCCL Final will be played in the final week of October and will be a single-match only. The Final will be hosted by the highest performing club in the earlier rounds of the 2021 SCCL, based on wins, draws and, if required, goal difference.

At present, Monterrey leads the four-team table with 13 points with a 2021 SCCL record of 4W-1D-0L, with 12 goals scored and three against for a goal difference of +9.

In second place with 10 points is Monterrey’s semifinal opponent, Cruz Azul, at 3W-1D-1L, with 12 goals scored and two against for a goal difference of +10.

The lone Major League Soccer side remaining in the competition, the Philadelphia Union, are third in the table in 10 points and with a record of 3W-1D-1L. The Union have nine goals scored and three conceded for a goal difference of +6.

Rounding out the four-team table with 10 points is Club America at 3W-1D-1L, with eight goals in favor and four against, making for a goal difference of +4.

Base on the standings, with either a draw or a victory in Thursday’s semifinal second leg against Cruz Azul, Monterrey would host the 2021 SCCL Final.
