MIAMI, Florida – The New England Revolution collected their second straight win to remain atop the Eastern Conference of Major League Soccer (MLS) with a 3-1 victory over the New York Red Bulls.

After an early Andres Reyes goal for the visiting Red Bulls in the 7’, the Revolution took over, getting scores from Gustavo Bou in the 36’, Tajon Buchanan, who starred for Canada at the 2020 Concacaf Men’s Olympic Qualifying Championship, in the 45+2’ and Adam Buksa in the 82’.

The Portland Timbers picked up a big win in the Western Conference by cooling off the scorching hot Javier Hernandez and the Los Angeles Galaxy in a 3-0 final in Portland.

A red card at the end of the first half for the Galaxy led to a second half surge from the Timbers, who got a brace from Felipe Mora (47’, 60’) and a Diego Valeri penalty conversion in the 69’ to round out the victory.

Los Angeles FC earned their first win since week one with a 2-1 victory at the Colorado Rapids. The hero for the Californian side was Diego Rossi, who bagged a first half brace with goals in the 14’ and 33’ to counter Colorado’s lone goal from Michael Barrios in the 50’.

A late Josef Martinez penalty conversion helped Atlanta United claim a 1-1 draw at Western Conference-leading Seattle Sounders. Early season MVP candidate Raul Ruidiaz scored his sixth goal of the young season in the 6’ to hand the hosts a lead, but Atlanta United’s persistence paid off, with Martinez stroking home the equalizer from the spot in the 86’.

2021 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League semifinalists Philadelphia Union now sit third in the Eastern Conference table after posting a hard-fought 1-0 win over DC United.

Current SCCL leading scorer Kacper Przybylko notched a goal right before halftime in the 45+1’ to provide all the scoring for the Union.
