Vancouver Whitecaps FC vs. Pumas UNAM
Vancouver Whitecaps FC hosts Pumas UNAM at BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada for what will be the first-ever meeting between the sides in the Concacaf Champions Cup and second overall in their history. Pumas claimed the win in the only previous match in 2024.
The Whitecaps are set for a third appearance in the quarterfinals of the competition after overcoming a tough challenge CF Monterrey in the Round of 16, ultimately winning on away goals as the aggregate was tied at 3-3. Brian White, who leads the Canadian side in goals this campaign with three in four appearances, was one of the key players and will be amongst those to watch in the series.
Pumas will feature in the quarterfinals for a seventh time after knocking out 2024 Concacaf Central American Cup champions LD Alajuelense winning 3-1 on aggregate in the Round of 16. Forward Guillermo Martínez, who’s tallied two goals in three appearances, and fullback Pablo Monroy, who’s provided two assists, have been amongst the top contributors for the three-time CCC champions this campaign.
Los Angeles FC vs. Inter Miami CF
Los Angeles FC will face Inter Miami CF at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, California, USA. The matchup will be their first in the CCC and fourth overall in their history. LAFC leads the all-time series with two wins to one for Inter Miami.
LAFC will feature in the quarterfinals of the competition for a third time, notably having advanced to semifinals in both previous appearances. The California side reached the quarterfinals after defeating fellow MLS side Columbus Crew 4-2 on aggregate. Forward Denis Bouanga was instrumental in the Round of 16 series, scoring three of the team’s four goals to reach a total of 10 goals and four assists in 12 career CCC appearances.
Inter Miami CF will make a second appearance in the quarterfinals stage after winning 4-nil on aggregate against 2024 Concacaf Caribbean Cup winners Cavalier FC in the Round of 16. Stars Lionel Messi, who registered five goals and two assists in six CCC appearances, and Luis Suárez, who got his name on the scoresheet in both legs against Cavalier FC, will look to make an impact once again for the South Florida side.
