MIAMI, Florida – Current Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League winners Tigres UANL have bolstered their attack with the signing of French winger Florian Thauvin from Ligue 1 side Marseille.

The arrival this summer of the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner with France will strengthen a Tigres team that will be seeking a return to the SCCL in 2022.

The 28-year-old attacker scored 71 goals in 197 appearances with Marseille, while also appearing in 13 Premier League matches with Newcastle United during the 2015-16 season.

Thauvin will play alongside countryman and former Marseille player Andre-Pierre Gignac, who joined Tigres in 2015 and claimed Golden Ball and Golden Boot honors in Tigres’ 2020 SCCL-winning campaign.
