SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador -- Luis Ángel Firpo defeated CD FAS 3-0 in the Salvadoran Clausura final on Sunday to capture its 10th domestic league title. The victory also secured the Usulutan-based club a spot in the 2013-14 CONCACAF Champions League.
The Pamperos struck first at a rain-soaked Estadio Cuscatlan, winning a penalty that was converted in the seventh minute by veteran Panamanian forward Anel Canales.
Medardo Max Guevara doubled the lead in the 55th in the minute with a header off a precise pass from Martín Mederos.
Malon Trejo García netted an insurance goal 11 minutes later, unleashing a strike from outside the area.
Firpo will be making its first Champions League appearance since the 2009-10 edition and third overall.
