HARRISON, New Jersey - The Impact de Montreal (3-0-0, 9 points) will look to complete group play in the CONCACAF Champions League with a perfect record Wednesday, when it visits the New York Red Bulls (1-1-1, 4 points).

Although the 2014 Canadian champion has already the Group 3 title, a win – depending on results in other games – could make it the top seed in the quarterfinals.

"We ae going there to take all three points and put ourselves in the best position possible," said defender Maxim Tissot.  "The message here is clear, we want to win and be one of the top seeds."

Head coach Frank Klopas is looking towards the future strategically. He’s fully cognizant that Mexican sides have won each of the previous CCL editions.  If that is to change, the former United States international would rather play the second leg of any potential series at home.

Being the top seed in the knockout rounds would place the Impact on that advantageous perch.

"We are going to play a very good team regardless if we finish at the top of the group," expressed Klopas.  "Finishing as a higher seed would help us being in a better position if we face a big club from Mexico early on next year."

The Major League Soccer rivals currently find themselves are differing paths.  The Red Bulls have already been eliminated from the CCL, but have secured a postseason berth in MLS.  Conversely, Montreal did not qualify for the MLS playoffs, but has a chance to achieve big things on the international stage.

With potential roster spots on the line for next season, the Impact players will be looking to put their best feet forward at Red Bull Arena.

"There will be guys who are fighting for jobs,” stressed goalkeeper Evan Bush.  “It's an important game for us.  We are worried about seeding in CONCACAF, so we need to focus on our game and not who they (the Red Bulls) put out on the field."
