MIAMI.- The CONMEBOL Copa America USA 2024 begins on June 20, with 16 teams, including six nations from Concacaf, fighting to win the prestigious continental trophy.

Canada will make its tournament debut in the coming edition. The curtain-raiser against reigning FIFA World Cup champion Argentina will be held on June 20 in Atlanta. The team will then play matches against Peru on June 25 in Kansas City and Chile on June 29 in Orlando.

The Canada men’s national team qualified for the tournament after defeating Trinidad and Tobago 2-nil in the 2023-24 Concacaf Nations League Play-In on March 23 in Frisco, Texas.

Canada appointed Jesse Marsch as its head coach on May 13 in hopes of winning a second continental championship. The Canucks were winners of the 2000 Gold Cup.
