ORLANDO, Fla. — Panama took a 3-1 victory over Bolivia to conclude play in Group C of the 2024 CONMEBOL Copa America on Monday at INTER&Co Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
Jose Fajardo opened the scoring in the 22' with a right-footed strike into goal to place Panama in the lead. Cristian Martinez headed the ball into the box for the assist.
Panama goalkeeper Orlando Mosquera stopped an attempt from Miguel Terceros in the 30’ to conserve the lead.
Bruno Miranda eventually equalized for Bolivia in the 69’ after connecting with a through ball in the box.
Eduardo Guerrero retook the lead for Panama in the 79' with a header near the 6-yard line. Eric Davis provided the assist with a curve ball from midfield.
Kahiser Lenis struck for Panama’s third goal in the 90'+1 with a right-footed hit towards the upper-right corner to seal the ticket to the quarterfinals.
The result seals Panama's first trip to the Copa America knockout stage. Los Canaleros will meet the winners of Group D at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on Saturday.
