MOSCOW, Russia – El Salvador came up on the short end of a close 4-2 affair with Brazil in Group C action of the 2021 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup on Sunday at Luzhniki Beach Soccer Stadium in Moscow, Russia.
Goals from Exon Perdomo and Frank Velasquez had the 2021 Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship winners holding a 2-1 lead going into the third and final period, but a late surge from Brazil proved to be too much, as the South Americans scored three straight goals to emerge victorious.
El Salvador will look to close out the group stage in strong fashion on Tuesday when they face Switzerland.
The United States will be back in action in Group A on Monday when they take on Paraguay.
