Exciting Final awaits as Bayamon face Inter Moengo Tapoe

MIAMI, Florida – A very exciting Final of the 2022 Concacaf Caribbean Club Shield in Puerto Rico awaits, as host club Bayamon FC take on Inter Moengo Tapoe of Suriname on Sunday at the Estadio Centroamericano de Mayaguez in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.

Inter Moengo Tapoe find themselves in a Caribbean Final for the second year in a row. The Suriname club lost to AS Cavaly of Haiti in the Final of the 2021 Flow Concacaf Caribbean Club Championship, so a second chance at lifting a trophy has presented itself for the club.

Inter Moengo Tapoe arrive into Sunday’s Final with a lot of confidence after posting a 4-0 semifinal win versus AS Gosier of Guadeloupe. Through three matches in the tournament, the Inter Moengo Tapoe attack has scored 13 goals and they will be looking to add that total against Bayamon.

The home side produced one of the most memorable comebacks in recent Concacaf history by scoring two goals in second half stoppage time to defeat Curacao’s Jong Holland 3-2 in their semifinal.

Kevin Hernandez has supplied three goals for the Boricuas in the CCCS, and he will be called on to help produce some more scores in what should be a very open-ended Final.

The day will begin, however, with the Third-Place Match between Jong Holland and Gosier. It will actually be a rematch of their group stage finale in Group B when the two sides played to a 0-0 draw.

This affair promises to be much more open, as both sides will be keen to finish the tournament on a high note.
