WILLEMSTAD, Curaçao – The 2024 CFU Club Shield continued with the quarterfinals on Tuesday in Willemstad, Curaçao.
Club Atlético Pantoja, Arnett Gardens FC, Grenades Football Club, and CCCUL Dublanc were victorious in their quarterfinal bouts. The semifinals take place on Friday to determine the finalists, and the two teams who will advance to the 2024 Concacaf Caribbean Cup.
Club Atlético Pantoja wins over Metropolitan FA
Club Atlético Pantoja of the Dominican Republic won 1-nil over Metropolitan FA of Puerto Rico at the Stadion Rignaal Jean Francisca.
Jeremy Baez scored the only goal of the encounter in the 5’ to capitalize on a free kick opportunity.
Arnett Gardens FC defeats CRKSV Jong Holland
Jamaican side Arnett Gardens FC earned a 7-1 victory against CRKSV Jong Holland of Curaçao at the Ergilio Hato Stadium.
Fabian Reid opened the scoring in the 5’ with a finish inside the goal area to capitalize on a free kick.
Jaheim Thomas extended the lead in the 9’ to place the finishing touch on a counterattack.
Fabian Reid struck from the top of the box in the 45’+4 to make it a three-goal lead before the half.
Shurwendel Roosje struck for the Curaçao club in the 59’ to cut the deficit by one.
Reid struck a second time for Arnett Gardens in the 60 with a header in the box.
Rushike Kelson struck the equalizer in the 70’ to begin the Robinhood comeback.
Kimani Arbouine hit from long range in the 82’ to continue the offensive display.
Rushane Thompson hit a lob from distance in the 90 to stretch the lead by three.
Grenades Football Club eliminates reigning champions
Grenades Football Club of Antigua and Barbuda won 2-1 against SV Robinhood from Suriname at the Stadion Rignaal Jean Francisca.
Don Tuur scored in the 32’ to place the reigning Caribbean Shield holders in the lead.
Malcolm Stewart equalized in the 34’ with a strike inside the box.
Jordan Britto scored the match-winning goal in the 58’ off a corner kick to help Grenades win its third straight match.
CCCUL Dublanc advances on PKs
Rams Village Superstars FC of Saint Kitts and Nevis drew 2-2 with CCCUL Dublanc from Dominica at the Ergilio Hato Stadium. Dublanc won on 5-3 on penalties.
Travist Joseph opened the scoring in the 10’ to place Dublanc in the lead.
Joseph completed his brace in the 11’ by connecting on a through ball in the box.
Gaune Amory earned one back in the 34’ to fuel a potential comeback.
Kimaree Rogers struck a ball across the goal area, forcing an own goal from Oran Sabaroche in the 90’+2, to force a penalty shootout.
Semifinals on Friday
With the final four teams determined, the semifinals are set to take place on Friday at the Stadion Rignaal Jean Francisca. The following is the schedule for the next round:
