Toluca were winners of the Concacaf Champions Cup in 1968 and 2003 and runners-up in 2013-14.

As 2022 Liga MX Apertura runners-up, Toluca have qualified for their first Concacaf Champions Cup since the 2019 edition and will begin in Round One. Overall, Toluca will be appearing in the Champions Cup for a 13^th time, with their first appearance coming in 1968. The club has amassed a record of 28W-24D-15L in Champions Cup action, while outscoring opponents 102-60.

Despite finishing as runners-up in the 2013-14 edition, Toluca hauled in many individual awards in that edition of the tournament. Raul Nava finished as the Golden Boot with seven goals, while GK Alfredo Talavera took home the Golden Glove Award.
