MIAMI — The 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup Final saw CF Pachuca win its sixth trophy in the competition thanks to contributions from its Game-Changer Salomon Rondon.

The Venezuelan striker stood out throughout the 2024 edition, with nine goals from Pachuca’s start in the Round of 16 to the Final. Rondon finished the tournament with the Best Player Award, presented by Scotiabank, and the Top Scorer Award, presented by Qatar Airways.

Rondon was influential in the final with a brace in the 3-nil win against then-top-ranked Columbus Crew. The Pachuca talisman placed his team in the lead early, in the 12’, and scored the third goal of the match in the 67’, all but preventing a comeback from the defending MLS Cup champions.

Earlier in the competition, Rondon scored consecutive hat-tricks in the Round of 16 second leg against the Philadelphia Union and the quarterfinals first leg against CS Herediano. The latter helped the club achieve its first victory in Costa Rica.

The 34-year-old forward also scored in the quarterfinals second leg and led all attacking players with 24 shots. Rondon also had one assist during the championship run, making for a total of 10 goal contributions.
