MIAMI, Florida – The 2023 Leagues Cup is now down to the final four following the results of Friday’s quarterfinal matches.

Inter Miami remained undefeated in the Lionel Messi era with a 4-0 win over Charlotte FC at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Inter Miami jumped out to a 2-0 first half lead and never looked back, adding another two in the second half, including a late strike from Messi, to nail down the victory. Messi now leads the Leagues Cup in scoring with eight goals, having scored in all five Inter Miami games.

The Philadelphia Union got a last-gasp score from Chris Donovan in the 90+10’ to defeat Liga MX side Queretaro 2-1 at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania.

The teams traded goals in the first 65 minutes of play and all signs pointed toward another penalty shootout, but the Union would summon up a late winner to secure their semifinal place.

Nashville SC took advantage of a first half sending off for Minnesota United to claim a 5-0 victory at GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tennessee.

DJ Taylor was sent off for Minnesota United in the 34th minute, and Nashville SC would respond with five unanswered goals from five different players.

A scintillating contest at one of North America’s hallowed stadiums saw Monterrey rally from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Los Angeles FC 3-2 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.

LAFC raced out to a 2-0 lead and were two goals up going into the second part of the second half. It was at that moment that Rayados came to life, scoring three straight goals, including the winning score from Rogelio Funes Mori in the 88th minute.
