The two-legged series between LD Alajuelense (CRC) and CD Olimpia (HON) is scheduled for October 26 (first leg) and November 2 (second leg), in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and Alajuela, Costa Rica, respectively.
Alajuelense have qualified for their second SCL final in three years after playing to a 2-2 draw with Honduran club Real España in the second leg semifinal. With Tuesday’s result in Alajuela, the Costa Rican side earned a 5-2 aggregate victory.
In the night’s second semifinal and in front of a sold-out Estadio Chelato Ucles, a strike from Carlos Sanchez in the final minutes earned Olimpia a dramatic 1-0 win over rivals Motagua and a place in the Final. The late goal gave the winners of the inaugural SCL in 2017 a 1-0 victory on aggregate in the series.
