The first chance would go Alianza’s way in the 13’, with Duvier Riascos whipping a header that appeared goalbound, only for Comunicaciones GK Kevin Moscoso to make the diving save.
Later in the 29’, it was Marvin Monterroza coming an inch away from poking home a cross from the left wing with the Alianza MF just a yard outside of goal.
Alianza continued to press forward in search of the decisive goal that would earn them the series win thanks to their crucial away goal in the first leg, but the Comunicaciones defense held firm.
The visiting Guatemalans would withstand the pressure and then put the series on ice with the winning goal in the 88’.
