COVID-19 Protocols
Following the successful delivery of multiple competitions, Concacaf has accumulated extensive experience in delivering competitions in a Covid-19 environment with protocols to ensure the safety of all participants.
In the case of the 2021 SCL, Concacaf will continue to enforce Covid-19 Protocols for all players, coaches, traveling staff and match officials, which include multiple Covid-19 tests before each match. Combined with other regulations and protocols, this process will ensure a safe environment during the competition.
Update on AS Samaritaine (MTQ)
AS Samaritaine (MTQ) has notified Concacaf that it will not be able to travel for its 2021 SCL matches vs CD Universitario (PAN) on August 5 and August 19, due to Covid-19 related challenges and restrictions.
In accordance with competition regulations and prior to traveling to Panama, the club conducted the required PCR tests which revealed multiple Covid-19 positive cases, forcing the team to quarantine and isolate. Additionally, local authorities in Martinique have issued a re-confinement and a three-week curfew of the entire island population, limiting all activities.
Per competition regulations, CD Universitario (PAN) will advance to the Round of 16 and face FC Motagua (HON) on September 23 (first leg) and September 30 (second leg).
Attending Fans
For fans to attend any 2021 SCL match, the relevant club must have authorization from their local authority. Concacaf also requires from clubs an operations plan which clearly demonstrates that there is a safety perimeter that separates any attending fans from entering the controlled environment in which the participants in the match will be present.
