LEON, Mexico – On Saturday, for Leon, one streak continued and another ended.

The Panzas Verdes moved up to third place in the 2017 Liga MX Apertura after their winning run was extended to five games on the strength of a 1-0 victory over visiting Tigres.  Elias Hernandez netted the only goal in a match that saw Mauro Boselli’s eight-game scoring streak be snapped.

The 32-year-old Argentinean’s remarkable exploits started on August 12 with a 3-0 triumph at Necaxa.  He fell just short of equalizing the club record for goals scored in consecutive games, which was shared by Agustin Santillan (1953/54) and Milton Queiroz "Tita" (1995/96).

Boselli scored one goal in each of the eight games, while striking a league-high nine times.
