MIAMI, Florida – Footballers never stop, as proven by the players that participated in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup who have been returning to their clubs across Concacaf.

The NWSL didn’t slow down, keeping things interesting for the teams that are fighting to qualify for the playoffs.

Angel City FC defeated 2-1 OL Reign on Sunday afternoon, rising higher up the table to ninth. Clarisse Le Bihan scored the first one for the home side in the 13’ on a pass from Scarlett Camberos, allowing Le Bihan to score her first goal of the regular season.

Madison Hammond doubled her team’s lead in the 57’ when she received the ball in the area from a free kick. Former World Cup champion, Megan Rapinoe, pulled one back for the Reign in the 74’ from a penalty kick, but Angel City hung on for the win.

The San Diego Wave still sits in the top three of the table after getting the three points against the Orlando Pride on Friday afternoon with a 2-1 win. The first goal arrived early in the match, in the 7’, with Abby Dahlkemper taking advantage of a loose ball in the area. Adriana Leal da Silva leveled things up in the 44’ with a header after Marta sent in a brilliant assist from the right side of the field.

However, San Diego kept pushing, getting back in front in the 75’ thanks to a header from Kyra Carusa, who scored off a corner kick, giving her team the win to stay in third place.
