Northern Super League: New league launches in Canada

Vancouver Rise FC won 1-nil against Calgary Wild FC in the inaugural match of the Northern Super League in front of 14,018 fans on Wednesday at BC Place. Canadian women’s national team midfielder Quinn struck the lone goal in the 22’ from the penalty spot.

Montreal Roses FC took a 1-nil win over AFC Toronto in front of 14,518 fans on Saturday at BMO Field in Toronto. Tanya Boychuk scored the lone goal to deliver the first away victory in league history.

 

 

NWSL: Kansas City Current continues perfect start

Kansas City Current reigns atop the NWSL standings after a 5-0-0 start. Its latest victory came 2-nil against the Houston Dash on home soil. Lo’eau LaBonta opened the scoring in the 21’ with a penalty kick. Kayla Sharples scored the second in the 62’.

Orlando Pride remained in second despite a 1-nil home loss to the Washington Spirit, who follows in third place. NJ/NY Gotham FC is fourth place after a 4-nil win at Angel City FC, who is fifth place.

San Diego Wave FC, Seattle Reign, and Bay FC also collected wins and complete the current playoff picture.

USL Super League: Carolina Ascent FC retakes first place

 The USL Super League 2024/25 season saw another change at the top of the standings, with Carolina Ascent FC climbing to first place with its third consecutive win in the month of April. Its latest victory came 3-nil against Spokane Zephyr FC.

Dallas Trinity FC follows in second place, earning a point in a 1-1 draw with Fort Lauderdale United FC, the current fourth-place team. Tampa Bay Sun FC is third after a 1-nil win at DC Power FC.

Liga MX Femenil: Clubs confirmed for Liguilla
