MIAMI – The race for the title this season in France’s Division 1 Feminine has begun and teams are already fighting for the top spot in the table. Montpellier HSC is one of the top three teams in the league, with the help of players like Haiti international Nerilia Mondesir.
Week two of the Division 1 Femenine just ended with the three top teams tied on points. Mondesir’s Montpellier HSC is sitting in third place, but ready to face the upcoming matches to rise up in the standings.
After preseason duties involving international friendlies against Ajax FC and FC Barcelona, Montpellier went straight into the league season and secured two wins in a row.
Just as she did with Haitian Women's National Team at the Concacaf W Championship earlier this year in Monterrey when she helped Haiti qualify for next February’s Intercontinental Playoffs of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia/New Zealand, Mondesir was a key player in the first two wins for La Paillade, scoring two goals in their first match when they downed 3-0 Dijon Foot, and one goal last week against Reims, winning 3-1.
As one of the top players in her team, Mondesir has proven many times her talent and continues to help Montpellier fight for the top spot in the table of the French league. Having scored in the first two games, she is ready to keep pushing her own limits.
Being part of Montpellier since 2017, Mondesir knows what it is like to feel the pressure of performing at the highest level. The title of champions of France is up for grabs, with Mondesir and Montpellier ready to keep battling every single match to make history and lift the trophy of the Division 1 Femenine.
