MIAMI.- The professional women’s football leagues are back across Concacaf, ready to keep emotions high in every match.

With just a few weeks away from the Playoffs, the ball is rolling again in the NWSL.

After a hard-fought match, the Washington Spirit won for the first time in 17 games in a 4-3 final against San Diego. With goals from Tara McKeown, Amber Brooks (2) and Ashley Hatch via a late penalty, last season’s winners met returned to the win column.

On Sunday evening, Kansas City won 1-0 over Gotham FC, with a late goal from Hailie Mace from the penalty spot. With this win, the Current extended their unbeaten run in the tournament to 13 games.

The Houston Dash and Angel City FC drew 1-1 on Sunday evening, with goals from Maria Sanchez and Simone Charley, respectively. The Dash sit in fourth place, while ACFC is one point away from the playoff position with two games left in the regular season.

Liga MX Femenil

Liga MX Femenil came back with full force with six games on the slate.

A late goal from Monica Alvarado gave Pachuca a 1-0 win over Necaxa. This win is key for Las Tuzas, as they keep fighting for a place in la Liguilla, climbing to the seventh position in the table.

On Monday evening, Queretaro won 1-0 against Club Leon. Maritza Maldonado scored the only goal of the match, helping her team achieve their first win and get three points after nine weeks.

Mazatlan won 3-1 against Toluca, with goals from Magaly Cortes (2) and Yuliana Mora, giving Las Cañoneras their second win this season. Maria Sanchez pulled one back for Las Diablas in the last seconds of the match.

Torneo Clausura of the Liga Femenina in Cost Rica

The Torneo Clausura of the Liga Femenina in Costa Rica also came back after the international break, with two games played in week 3 of the tournament.

On Saturday afternoon, Sporting FC and Herediano drew 2-2. Carol Sanchez and Tanisha Fonseca helped Sporting FC stay in first position, while Celeste Jimenez and Daniela Coto scored for Herediano, now sitting in fourth position.

Perez Zeledon won over Suva Spots in the second match of the weekend, 1-0. The only goal of the evening came from the boots of Diosa Barrett, giving her team the win, now standing in third position.
