MIAMI — Stars of Concacaf W displayed their talents during the international break, which featured a rematch of the 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup Final and the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The USL Super League had four matches to start the month of April. NWSL and Liga MX Femenil saw a break in action due to the FIFA women’s international match window.
USL Super League: Dallas Trinity FC rises to the top
The USL Super League 2024/25 season saw yet another change in first place, with Dallas Trinity FC climbing to the top spot after consecutive victories, 1-nil over DC Power FC on Wednesday and 3-nil at Lexington SC on Sunday.
Dallas leads the standings with 36 points. Carolina Ascent FC is second with 31 despite not playing last week. Brooklyn FC dropped to third on 33 points after 1-nil loss at Spokane Zephyr FC.
Fort Lauderdale United FC fell to fourth after a 2-nil loss on Saturday against state rival Tampa Bay Sun FC.
Concacaf nations in International Friendlies
Canada took a 3-nil win against Argentina on Friday at BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia. Jade Rose opened the scoring in the 24’ before Nichelle Prince extended the lead in the 29’. Hometown star Julia Grosso added the third in the 87’ to put the bow on the victory. The two nations meet for another friendly on Tuesday at Starlight Stadium in Langford, British Columbia.

Haiti took a 1-nil lead against Chile on Friday at Estadio Bicentenario de La Florida in La Florida, Chile. Melchie Dumornay scored the lone goal from the penalty spot in the 17’ for the match-winning. The two nations will meet again on Tuesday at Complejo Juan Pinto Duran in Macul, Chile.
Costa Rica fell 1-nil against Ecuador on Saturday at Estadio Jose Rafael "Fello" Meza in Cartago, Costa Rica. The two will play another friendly on Tuesday at Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto in Alajuela, Costa Rica.
Cuba won 3-2 against Peru on Saturday at Estadio Iván Elías Moreno in Villa el Salvador, Peru. Maritania Mengana scored a brace, with her goals coming at the end of each half, first to draw prior to halftime and the other to strike the match-winning goal. The two will face off again on Tuesday at the same location.
Mexico won 3-nil against fellow Concacaf nation Jamaica on Saturday at CPKC Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, USA. Alexia Delgado, Christina Burkenroad and Rebeca Bernal scored in the first half to take the victory in the friendly. The two nations will face off again on Tuesday at Shell Energy Stadium in Houston.

Panama fell 1-nil against Venezuela on Saturday at the Centro Nacional de Alto Rendimiento in Isla de Margarita, Venezuela. The two nations will face off again on Tuesday in the same place.
The United States women’s national team defeated Brazil, 2-nil, on Saturday in front of 32,303 fans at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Trinity Rodman scored in the 6th minute with a right-footed strike inside the penalty area. Lindsey Heaps added the second from the penalty spot in the 66th minute.

The encounter marked a rematch of the inaugural Concacaf W Gold Cup Final and the women’s football gold medal match at the 2024 Summer Olympics, both won by the United States. The two nations will meet again on Tuesday at PayPal Park in San Jose, California.
U-17 Women’s World Cup berths decided
The four Concacaf representatives at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup have been decided with the 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-17 Qualifiers taking place last week.
Mexico, Canada, and the United States collected their berths as the three group winners. Costa Rica earned the final berth as the best-ranked second-place team.
The 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup will take place in Morocco from October 17 to November 8.
