MIAMI – After a few months of action, women’s football leagues across the world largely took a pause for some international matches. However, a few important games were pending in the leagues across Concacaf.
The United States Women’s National Team faced the Nigerian Women’s National Team to keep their momentum and preparation going for next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia/New Zealand. The USWNT downed the visitors 4-0 in Kansas City, with goals from Sophia Smith (2), Alex Morgan and Lindsey Horan.

National Women´s Soccer League
The NWSL had one pending game, Gotham FC against North Carolina Courage. On Sunday afternoon, the two sides faced each other in a hard-fought match, and the only goal of the game did not come until Fuka Nagano found the back of the net in the 81’ for the Courage.
The Mexican Women’s National Team were in action as well, as they faced the New Zealand Women’s National Team on Friday, with the Ferns taking the win, 1-0.
On Monday evening, Mexico faced NWSL team Angel City FC in the first edition of the Copa Angelina. With an own goal from Megan Reid and a first international goal from Scarlett Camberos, El Tricolor took the trophy home, 2-0.
Liga MX Femenil
There was also some Liga MX Femenil action and the first match of the week saw Puebla win 1-0 over America on Sunday afternoon. The only goal of the day came from Rebeca Villuendas’ boots, after she stole the ball from a defender and scored from outside the box, giving her team the win.
To play a pending game from week nine, Monterrey welcomed Toluca on Monday evening. With goals from Aylin Avilez (2), Daniela Solis, Christina Burkenroad and Alejandra Martinez, Rayadas took a 5-2 win over Las Diablas, who took two back with the help of Brenda Woch and Destinney Duron.
Liga Femenina of Costa Rica
The Torneo Clausura of the Liga Femenina of Costa Rica paused so the Costa Rica Women’s National Team could face the Copa America runner-ups Colombia in their international friendly. With a late goal via penalty, Catalina Usme gave Colombia the win over La Sele in their first encounter this month.
