GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala - The 2021 Concacaf Futsal Championship kicked off on Monday at the Domo Polideportivo de la CDAG in Guatemala City, Guatemala with action in all four groups.
In Group D, Nicaragua were big winners over Cuba, 4-1, with Kreyton Downs, Lester Kripp, Juan Zepeda and a Cuba own goal countering Roger Moraton’s goal for the Cubans.

Also in Group D, the United States and El Salvador battled to a 1-1 draw. Samuel Munoz gave the Central Americans a 1-0 lead, but a score from Everson Maciel earned a point for the U.S.

Later in the day in Group B, Panama impressed with an 11-1 victory over Suriname. Carlos
Perez notched a hat trick, Abdiel Castrellon, Nagdiel Del Rosaio and Abdiel Ortiz each bagged
braces, while Oscar Hinks and Aquiles Campos added goals for the Canaleros.

Defending CFC champions Costa Rica kicked off their campaign in Group C with a 7-0 win
against Haiti. Minor Cabalceta scored a hat trick and was joined on the scoresheet by Milinton
Tijerino’s brace and goals from Juan Cordero and Jose Guevara.
Rounding out the day’s action in Group A was host nation Guatemala versus the Dominican
Republic, with the Chapines earning a 4-2 victory. Alan Aguilar, Marvin Sandoval, Alex Alay and
Pablo Gonzalez scored for Guatemala, while Marco Gomez and Steven Dominguez found the
back of the net for the Dominican Republic.
