MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup Prelims will conclude with the second leg encounters on Tuesday.

Fourteen teams continue the competition for the final seven berths in the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup. The winner on aggregate in each matchup will qualify for the Group Stage of the competition.

The first leg encounters took place last Friday. Tuesday’s results will complete the Prelims for each series.

Trinidad and Tobago vs. Cuba

 Trinidad and Tobago will look to its home field advantage when facing Cuba at Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva, Trinidad and Tobago.

The Soca Warriors picked up a 2-1 win in the first leg. Isaiah Lee and Steffen Yeates scored to give Trinidad and Tobago the victory away from home. Yasniel Matos struck the lone goal for Los Leones del Caribe.

  1. Yasniel Matos scored the first goal of the 2025 Gold Cup Prelims and his third in 31 international appearances.
  2. Trinidad & Tobago earned their second-ever win on Cuban soil — the first came 16 years earlier in World Cup qualifying (2008).
  3. Isaiah Lee and Steffen Yeates both scored their first international goals, sealing Trinidad & Tobago’s third win over Cuba in Gold Cup qualifiers.

Martinique vs. Suriname 

 Martinique hosts Suriname at the Stade Municipal Pierre-Aliker in Fort-de-France, Martinique.

A goal from Gyrano Kerk gave Suriname the 1-nil lead in the first leg. Martinique will seek to rally behind its home fans to overturn the result in the aggregate.

  1. Gyrano Kerk scored Surinam’s first-ever goal in the Gold Cup Prelims, earning their first win in this stage.
  2. It marked Surinam’s first official win over Martinique — their last two victories were in friendlies back in 1968.
  3. Surinam snapped an eight-match winless streak against Martinique and remained unbeaten at home vs. them in all competitions.

 Jamaica vs. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

 Jamaica hosts Saint Vincent and the Grenadines at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica.

The two sides played to a 1-1 stalemate in the lone draw of the first leg encounters. Oalex Anderson scored the goal that gave the Vincy Heat the lead before Leon Bailey evened things out for the Reggae Boyz from the penalty spot.

  2. This was the first draw between these two teams on Vincentian soil and only the second in their history.
  3. Leon Bailey scored his first Prelims goal with a dramatic equalizer in the 90+8th minute — his sixth international goal.

Guatemala vs. Guyana 

 Guatemala meets Guyana at Estadio Cementos Progreso in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

The hosts will seek to overturn a 3-2 Guyana win in the opening encounter. Guyana game-changer Isaiah Jones scored a hat-trick to give his team the upper hand. José Martínez and José Pinto scored for Guatemala.

  2. This was Guyana’s first-ever win over Guatemala, breaking a four-match losing streak.
  3. José Carlos Martínez scored in a second consecutive Prelims vs. Guyana, while José Pinto added his third career goal.

Nicaragua vs. Guadeloupe 

 Nicaragua hosts Guadeloupe win at Estadio Nacional in Managua, Nicaragua.

Guadeloupe enters with a 1-nil lead after winning the first leg. Florian David provided the lone goal of the opening encounter as Nicaragua seeks to make a comeback in the series in front of its home fans.

  2. Guadeloupe became the team with the most matches played in Gold Cup Prelims (5).
  3. Guadeloupe achieved back-to-back 1-0 wins in Le Gosier for the first time in the 21st century.

Costa Rica vs. Belize 

 Costa Rica meets Belize at the Estadio Nacional in San Jose, Costa Rica.

The hosts will try to wrap up their qualification after a 7-nil victory in the first leg. With five different goal scorers, Costa Rica soared to victory. Manfred Ugalde and Álvaro Zamora aim to once again shine for the defense.

  2. Manfred Ugalde and Álvaro Zamora both recorded their first international braces.
  3. Belize hosted Costa Rica for the first time ever, and the loss ended their best unbeaten run since 1983.

Honduras vs. Bermuda 

 Honduras hosts Bermuda at the Estadio Nacional Chelato Uclés in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

La H came from behind in the first leg to win 5-3 with goals from Romell Quioto, Luis Palma, Julián Martínez, and José Pinto.

Kane Crichlow, Djair Parfitt-Williams, and Zeiko Lewis scored for Bermuda and will seek a result on the road to secure the qualification.

Historic Moments First Leg 

  1. Romell Quioto scored his second career international brace, reaching 16 goals in 67 caps.
  2. Honduras won 5-3 — a scoreline they hadn’t achieved since a match against Guatemala in 1946 (79 years ago).
  3. It was Bermuda’s first time conceding five goals in a Gold Cup Prelims match.
