LOS ANGELES, California – Mexico FW Santiago Gimenez has won the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup Mark of a Fighter Award presented by Modelo for the fighting spirit shown in Mexico’s 1-0 win over Panama in the 2023 Gold Cup Final.
Gimenez’s moment arrived in the 88th minute of Sunday’s Final when he received a pass from Orbelin Pineda, spun around a Panamanian defender and bore down on goal before slotting home a left-footed finish to score the goal that earned Mexico their ninth Gold Cup crown.
In every aspect, Gimenez showed the Mark of a Fighter with his spirit and will to lift his team to Concacaf glory.
