Miami, FL – March 27, 2025 – As part of a continued effort to elevate football coaching standards across the region, Concacaf, in collaboration with the newly launched UEFA Together program, successfully hosted the Concacaf Pro License Exchange on Tuesday, February 25, and Wednesday, February 26, 2025. The two-day event, held at Concacaf headquarters in Miami, Florida, brought together leading football educators and administrators to strategize the future of elite coach education and Pro License implementation within Concacaf’s Member Associations (MAs).

By bringing coaching leaders together, the exchange focused on building sustainable coach education programs, ensuring alignment with club licensing and professional football development, and laying the foundation for the successful integration of Pro License programs across the region.

Concacaf Chief Football Development Officer Jason Roberts highlighted the significance of this initiative in shaping the future of football in the region. “This exchange represents a milestone and a turning point in how we approach coaching education in Concacaf. By working closely with UEFA and our Member Associations, we are establishing a clear roadmap for long-term success, ensuring that Pro License programs become a cornerstone of professional football development in our region.”

The agenda featured expert-led discussions, including UEFA’s insights on Pro License education, a case study from the U.S. Soccer Federation, and progress reports from key MAs, including Canada, Costa Rica, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, and Trinidad & Tobago.

A central outcome of the exchange was the creation of an implementation plan that will guide the roll-out of Pro License programs in select Member Associations over the next three years. This strategy will ensure that each MA receives the necessary support to build, refine, and integrate high-level coaching education opportunities within their football ecosystems.

UEFA National Associations Director Zoran Lakovic emphasized the broader impact of this initiative. “Coaching education is the foundation of football’s growth. Through this UEFA Together programme exchange, we are creating a lasting impact for coaches, players, and footballing nations. Partnerships like this are at the heart of the programme’s philosophy. UEFA is proud to support Concacaf in elevating coaching standards and developing meaningful pathways for football educators across the region.”

Through this structured approach, Concacaf and UEFA Together will provide continued guidance, technical expertise, and tailored support to participating MAs, ensuring that each federation progresses toward achieving full Pro License accreditation.

The commitment made during the exchange will shape the next generation of elite coaches, ensuring that football in the region continues to evolve in line with global standards.
