Miami, FL – The Concacaf Disciplinary Committee has sanctioned Head Coach Jesse Marsch for multiple incidents that occurred during the 2025 Concacaf Nations League Third Place Match between the men’s national teams of Canada and the United States on Sunday, March 23, 2025.

After opening a disciplinary case and reviewing the documentation and evidence collected during its investigation, and based on the competition regulations and the Concacaf Disciplinary Code, the Disciplinary Committee has imposed a one-match suspension on Mr. Marsch for unacceptable conduct towards the match officials and for delaying the restart of the match by refusing to leave the field of play.

The sanction now includes two matches in total, including the automatic one-match suspension for the on-field direct red card. Mr. Marsch must serve his two-match suspension during the upcoming 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup.

The Disciplinary Committee has also warned the Canadian Soccer Association and Mr. Marsch that more severe sanctions could be taken should incidents occur during future matches.
