TORONTO:  OneSoccer, the dedicated soccer channel operated by MEDIAPRO Canada, has renewed its contract for the media rights in Canada to the 2023-24 Concacaf Nations League, a national team tournament involving all 41 Concacaf Member Associations (North and Central America and the Caribbean).

Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team is one of the four top seeds in the CONCACAF Nations League alongside the United States, Mexico and Costa Rica, and will enter the tournament at the Quarter Final stage in November, with home and away matches scheduled for November 16-17 and 20-21, and the Finals (Semi-Finals, Third Place Match and Final) due to be held in March 2024.

OneSoccer will show live coverage of at least one Group Stage match per round in September and October, with all remaining matches available on a delayed basis. Every match from the Quarter Finals to the Final will be aired live, with comprehensive studio programming and analysis of Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team as they aim to go one better over their runner-up finish in the 2022-23 tournament.

The deal marks the third consecutive season that OneSoccer has acquired the rights to the pan-regional tournament, with this most recent edition serving as the qualifying tournament for the CONMEBOL Copa América 2024, the quadrennial international competition organized by CONMEBOL, the governing body for soccer in South America.

As part of a Concacaf and CONMEBOL strategic partnership announced earlier this year, the top six CONCACAF finishers from the third edition of Concacaf’s Nations League will be invited as guests to the CONMEBOL Copa América  2024, to be held in the United States in June and July next year – providing high-level preparation for the FIFA World Cup 2026, which will be held in Canada, the USA and Mexico.

Martijn Bakx, CEO of MEDIAPRO Canada, said that “We are very happy to continue our deep relationship with the CONCACAF Nations League and all things CONCACAF related. Last year’s Nations League Finals in Las Vegas marked the first time in more than two decades that the Canadian men reached a major international final. We continue to support Canada Soccer’s National Men’s Team in its quest to win this tournament and there is no better place to follow it on than OneSoccer.”

Heidi Pellerano, Chief Commercial Officer at Concacaf, added that “We are thrilled that OneSoccer has agreed to continue their partnership with Concacaf, which is a testament to their unwavering commitment to bringing the excitement of the Concacaf Nations League to fans in Canada. As we renew this agreement, we look forward to elevating the viewing experience and reaching even greater heights in showcasing the talent, passion and unity that define this tournament. Together we’re poised to deliver unforgettable moments and showcase the best in men’s professional football.”
