MIAMI, Florida – The opening matches of Group D of the 2022 Concacaf Men’s Under-17 Championship Qualifiers were played on Wednesday night at the Estadio Nacional in Managua, Nicaragua where the host nation earned their first three points in a commanding 5-0 win over Turks and Caicos Islands.
Oliver Bello scored a pair of goals to pace the Pinoleros to the triumph. Joab Gutierrez opened the scoring in the 6’ via the penalty spot and was followed in the 14’ by Juban Uriarte.
Bello then struck for his brace with goals in the 20’ and 34’ before Fernando Parrales put on the finishing touch to the 5-0 win with a score in the 51’.
The other match in Group D at the Estadio Nacional saw Antigua and Barbuda and Belize play to a compelling 1-1 draw.
Jaheim Mena gave Belize a 1-0 lead in the 15’, but the Benna Boys answered in kind, scoring in the 31’ through Tejhano Jarvis to complete the 1-1 final.
