Chase Adams rises to first in top scorer race in U-17 Men’s Qualifiers

MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf U-17 Men’s Qualifiers continued with eight matches on Monday in the ongoing quest of 35 nations fighting for the eight Concacaf berths at the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Play began in Groups D, F, G, and H, where Honduras and the United States began their joint-record 20th appearance in the final round. Chase Adams rose to the top of the scorer’s table with 10 goals in the U.S. victory.

Group D

Puerto Rico 3, Bonaire 0

Puerto Rico won 3-nil against Bonaire in Group D at Estadio Francisco Morazán in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.

Puerto Rico took the lead in the 11' through Matthew Belgodere, who struck a left-footed finish inside the box.

Eddiel Marquez extended the lead and sealed the three points for El Huracán Azul with goals in the 45'+2' and 84'.

Honduras 3, Saint Martin 1

Honduras earned a 3-1 win against Saint Martin in Group D at Estadio Francisco Morazán in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.

Yeison Arriola placed La H in front in the 2’ with a hit at the right post to complete an offensive build up.

David Flores extended the lead for the hosts in the 20’ after dribbling into the area and striking with his right.

Saint Martin earned one back in the 68’ as a pass into the middle of the box by Jahnael Charlery-adele resulted in an Enmanuel Martin own goal.

Marco Reyes scored from the edge of the box in the 73’ to restore the two-goal lead and secure the three points for Honduras.

Group F

Cuba 3, Saint Kitts and Nevis 1

Cuba earned a 3-1 victory against Saint Kitts and Nevis in Group F at Estadio Nacional in San José, Costa Rica.

Franklyn Mitcham placed Saint Kitts and Nevis in the lead in the 43'.

Lazaro Díaz helped fuel the Cuba comeback with goals in the 76' and 83’ before Cristian Bravo sealed the three points in the 90'+4.

United States 22, U.S. Virgin Islands 0

The United States won 22-nil against the U.S. Virgin Islands in Group F at Estadio Nacional in San José, Costa Rica.

Chance Cowell opened the scoring in the 2', placing the finishing touch in front of goal on a pass from Chase Adams.

Maximo Carrizo extended the lead in the 5’ to connect on a pass from Jude Terry.

Chase Adams added a third for the U.S. in the 8' with a header inside the box. Adams completed his hat-trick with goals in the 9’ and 13’.

Carrizo scored again in the 15’, and Adams would add another to his account in the 19’.

Carrizo earned his hat-trick in the 28’ and the ninth for the USA.

Adams would again find the back of the net the 31’, 33', and 38' to extend his tally to seven and take the lead in the Golden Boot race.

Cowell converted his brace in the 40’. Pedro Guimaraes opened his account in the 41’, and Jude Terry added his name to the scoresheet in the 43’. The 14 goals set a new record for a U.S. team in the U-17 qualifiers.

Ramiz Hamouda continued the U.S. scoring in the 51’ to convert on a corner kick. Terry would earn his brace in the 52’.

Adams would strike again in the 55’ for his eight of the night. Carrizo would get his fourth in the 67’.

Adams earned his ninth in the 75’ and tenth in the 77’. Jamir Johnson struck in the 80’ and Kellan LeBlanc opened his tally in the 86’ to complete the night for the Stars and Stripes.

Group G

Dominican Republic 1, Aruba 0

The Dominican Republic won 1-nil against Aruba in Group G at Estadio Rommel Fernández in Panama City, Panama. 

Ismahel Saidani scored the lone goal in the 20’, striking a left-footed finish in the penalty area to connect with a pass from Luís Elián López.

Panama 8, Grenada 0

Panama won 8-nil against Grenada in Group G at Estadio Rommel Fernández in Panama City, Panama. 

Gerson Gordón placed the home side in front in the 6' before Estevis López would extend the lead in the 16'.

Mikel Prado scored the third goal for Panama in the 34' to begin his tally on the day.

Los Canaleros increased their lead before halftime with goals from Joseph Pacheco in the 44' and Abraham Altamirano from the penalty spot in the 45'+2.

Adrian Olivardía opened his account in the 80' with a penalty kick conversion of his own.

Prado completed his hat-trick with goals in the 83' and 90'+3.

Group H

El Salvador 8, Cayman Islands 0

El Salvador won 8-nil against the Cayman Islands in Group H at Estadio Cementos Progreso in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

Luis Tobar opened the scoring in the 3’, striking with the outside of his foot from the edge of the box. Tobar secured his brace in the 14’ to extend El Salvador’s lead by two.

Rafael Inojosa followed with a brace of his own, striking in the 17’ and 34’.

Jefferson Perla converted from a free kick in the 44’ to extend the lead for La Selecta. 

Kerin Torres added a sixth from the right side of the penalty area in the 45’+1.

Eduardo Galdámez placed his name on the scoresheet in the 69’ with a free-kick goal.

Brandon Ramírez struck from the left side of the penalty area in the 73’ to put a bow on the victory.

Jamaica 3, Saint Lucia 1

Jamaica won 3-1 against Saint Lucia in Group H at Estadio Cementos Progreso in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

Seymour Reid opened the scoring in the 12’ after pouncing on a loose ball inside the penalty area.

Dario White extended the Jamaica lead in the 50’, striking from the right side of the penalty area.

Jahmarie Nolan made it three for the Reggae Boyz in the 55’ with a right-footed power hit from just outside the box.

Shevon Byron cut the deficit for Saint Lucia in the 73’, getting his left foot to lob the ball into the goal.
