BRADENTON, Florida – The Dominican Republic became the 20th and final team to qualify for the 2019 Concacaf Under-17 Championship after taking down Antigua and Barbuda 2-0 on Sunday.
The result earned Dominican Republic a first-place finish in Group B with nine points, three points ahead of Sunday’s opponent.
It was a tense first half between the Dominicans and the Benna Boys, with things still undecided and scoreless at the break.
That would change though in the 46’ when Franklin Rodriguez broke the deadlock to make it 1-0 to the Dominican Republic.
Ten minutes later in the 56’ Rodriguez was back at it, stretching the lead to a more comfortable 2-0.
From there, the Dominican Republic defense took over and saw out the rest of the match to punch its ticket to the CU17.
Play will resume for the Championship Round from May 1 – 16. The four teams advancing to the Round of 16.

- Group D winner – Puerto Rico
The knockout stage of the competition will be played in its entirety in a single match elimination format, with the semifinalists automatically qualifying for the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
