MIAMI, Florida – The group stage of the 2023 Concacaf Men’s Under-17 Championship in Guatemala delivered a number of great performances, however these 11 players stood out the most at their respective positions.
GK Manuel Romero, Panama – In addition to registering two clean sheets, making five saves and conceding just one goal, Romero had arguably the save of the group stage by stopping a penalty against Mexico.
DF Chimere Omeze, Canada – Omeze did it all for the Canadians, with a goal, an assist and a steal to go along with completing 93 percent of his passes.
DF Jordan Garcia, Honduras – Garcia was massive in helping Honduras win all three games, with three steals and a whopping 10 clearances. He also got on the scoresheet with a goal.
DF Kevin Garcia, Mexico – Garcia’s accuracy was as good as it gets, as he completed nearly 97 percent of his passes, while making nine clearances.

MF Cruz Medina, United States – One of seven players leading the tournament with three goals, Medina stood out for the U.S., in particular with a hat trick in their opening 5-0 win over Barbados in which Medina’s second score was a wondergoal from distance.
MF Santiago Garzaro, Guatemala – Inspired by playing in front of the home fans, Garzaro was a menace for opponents by scoring twice and chipping in an assist. He also had seven shots and seven steals.
MF Edwin Munguia, Honduras – Munguia finished the group stage as the top-rated midfielder with three goals and a completion percentage over 90%.
MF Jahmani Bell, Jamaica – In addition to completing almost 94 percent of his passes, Bell had a goal, two assists and three steals.
FW Christopher Argueta, El Salvador – Another player with three goals in the group stage, Argueta was also a workhorse in defense with three clearances.
FW Kevin Walder, Panama – Walder was sensational for Panama, scoring three goals on just 10 shots, while also contributing a steal to the cause.
FW Didier Reinoso, Cuba – Reinoso’s three goals on 10 shots all came from open play. He also collected an assist to lead Cuba into the knockout round.
