MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-17 Qualifiers saw the conclusion of Groups A, B, C, and D in Round One on Friday.
Puerto Rico, Honduras, Panama, and El Salvador secured their place in the Final Round as winners of their respective groups. The two other group winners will be determined on Saturday.
Group A
Puerto Rico 2, Bermudas 1
A third consecutive win gave Puerto Rico the top place in Group A, as they came on top 2-1 against Bermuda in their final Round One match at Estadio Centroamericano in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico.
Gabriella Garnett started the goal count in the 33’ with a left-footed shot from the upper side of the box.
Bermuda pushed for the equalizer and found it in the 60’ through a right-footed shot from outside the area by Evans Welch.
In the game's last action, in the 90 '+5', Las Boricuas found their second goal thanks to Mía Colon, who pushed a loose ball into the net to seal the Final Round berth.
Cayman Islands 4, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines 0
The last match in Group A saw the Cayman Islands get its first win, a 4-nil result, against Saint Vincent and the Grenadines at Estadio Centroamericano in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico.
Clara De Quintal was the groundbreaking force for the Cayman Islands’ first win, starting her goal count in the 18’.
Olivia Ridley doubled the lead in the 45’+2 with a right-footed volley in the upper side of the area.
A brace for De Quintal arrived in the 59’ by getting the ball past goalkeeper Hyeisha Thomas with a right-footed shot. De Quintal closed her hat-trick in the 67’ after winning a one-on-one battle with Thomas in the box.
Group B
Belize 3, U.S. Virgin Islands 0
Belize won 3-nil over the U.S. Virgin Islands in Group B at Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva, Trinidad and Tobago.
Shanalee Smith got the opening goal in the 12’ with a right-footed volley from just outside the area, marking the first Belize goal of the qualifiers.
Smith kept her tally going, getting a brace in the 34’ with a header in the box.
Smith became a hat-trick hero in the 60’ after sending a long-range volley to the center of the net as Belize got its first three points in the tournament.
Trinidad and Tobago 0, Honduras 1
Honduras won 1-nil against Trinidad and Tobago to finish atop Group B at Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva, Trinidad and Tobago.
The sole goal of the night came from Paula Ramirez, who broke the deadlock for Honduras in the 76’, giving La H the eventual match-winner.
Group C
Guyana 7, Turks and Caicos Islands 1
Guyana earned a 7-1 victory against Turks and Caicos Islands at Estadio Olímpico Félix Sánchez in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Alexaudria Chasles sent a header in the box to the bottom right corner in the 16’ to start Guyana's goal count.
Devi Sookdeo doubled their lead in the 20’ with a right-footed shot from the right side of the box.
Brianyelis Meises scored an own goal in the line in the 22’, giving Guayana its third goal of the day.
Anaya Joseph made it four for Guyana with a right-footed shot in the 24’.
Joseph closed the first half with a brace and the fifth goal for Guyana in the 41’ with a 40-yard right-footed banger.
Sookdeo scored her second goal in the 54’ with a right-footed shot in the area to incrase the Lady Jags’ lead by six.
Naomi Benjamin struck the seventh goal of the night from outside the box in the 57’.
Turks and Caicos Islands struck its first goal of the tournament in the 71’ off a right-footed free kick taken by Amika Jackson.
Panama 8, Cuba 2
Panama claimed the top spot of Group C with a 5-2 victory against Cuba at Estadio Olímpico Félix Sánchez in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Shaday Mow stepped up again for Las Canaleras, getting the first goal in the 6’ with a shot inside the penalty area.
Yasselis Magallon doubled Panama’s in the 8’ with a right-footed shot in the box.
Mow got a brace, and Panama's third goal, in the 12’ in similar fashion to her first goal.
Alison Onodera increased Panama’s lead in the 18’, to make it a four-goal lead.
Aneilis Calvo pulled one goal back for Cuba in the 24’ with a right-footed strike of her own.
Onodera restored the four-goal lead from the penalty spot in the 27’.
Cuba found a second goal through a volley from outside the box by Olga Evelin in the 44’.
A right-footed banger from outside the box by Kelly Zapata gave Panama its sixth goal of the night.
Mow completed her hat-trick in the 70’ to claim her sixth goal in Round One.
Magallon scored the last goal of the encounter in the 82’ to get a brace and the eight goal for Panama.
Group D
Curaçao 5, Aguilla 2
Curaçao earned a 5-2 win over Anguilla in Group D at Estadio Nacional in Managua, Nicaragua.
Anguilla struck its first goal of the campaign in the 8’ thanks to Safiyah Gaskin, who took advantage of a poorly cleared ball to open the scoring.
Ruwenna Cristina equalized for Curaçao in the 25’ with a right foot shot in the box.
Xiarleahmay Martis gave Curaçao the lead in the 35’ with a left-footed shot inside the penalty area.
Samantha McCormack equalized on behalf of Anguilla in the 44’ from the penalty spot.
Cristina reclaimed the lead for Curaçao in the 48’ by winning a one-on-one against in the area to complete her brace.
Destiny Koko extended the Curaçao lead in the 59’ with a right-footed shot from the penalty spot.
Cristina closed the match with a hat-trick and Curaçao’s fifth goal in the 70’.
El Salvador 7, Guatemala 0
El Salvador claimed Group D with a 6-nil win against Guatemala at Estadio Nacional in Managua, Nicaragua.
Maya Buerger shined again for La Selecta, scoring the first goal of the evening in the 22’ with a banger from outside the area.
A low right foot shot by Angelina Carrillo in the 27’ doubled the lead for El Salvador.
Ava Rodriguez added her name to the scorer’s list in the 35’.
Carrillo got a brace in the 41’ to extend the lead by four.
Buerger struck inside the box in the 50' to complete her brace, giving El Salvador the fifth goal of the night.
Audrina Santos struck the ball off the post to continue El Salvador’s effective offense in the 78’.
Santos sealed her brace with a backheel shot in the area in the 86’ to put a bow on El Salvador’s victory.
