Concacaf’s What’s Wrong Is Wrong campaign was launched in 2021 with the aim of promoting equality, inclusivity, and respect in football across the region and fostering a safe and welcoming environment for all individuals involved in the game.
What's Wrong is Wrong: Creating a Game for Everyone
At Concacaf, we believe that football is for everyone. Our goal is clear: to promote a sport where inclusivity, respect, and equality are celebrated. We come together for the love of our game—across countries, cultures, and backgrounds. But for the game to truly belong to everyone, respect must be at the core of every match. That’s why Concacaf calls out What’s Wrong is Wrong. This campaign exists to ensure that discrimination has no place in Concacaf stadiums, on the pitch, or in the stands.
Words Matter—Even When You Don’t Mean Harm
Some phrases may feel playful or traditional, but words carry weight. A chant or saying that might not seem offensive to some can make others feel excluded, unwelcome, or disrespected. That’s why it’s important to be mindful—because intent doesn’t erase impact. If you wouldn’t say it in front of your family, why say it here? What’s Wrong is Wrong—always.
Respect the Game. Respect Each Other.
There’s passion in football, but there’s no room for harmful words or actions that exclude others. Discriminatory chants, slurs, and offensive behavior affect players, fans, and the integrity of the game itself.
We All Have a Role to Play
Creating an inclusive atmosphere isn’t just about stopping one chant—it’s about shaping a soccer culture that welcomes everyone. Let’s make sure that every time we step into a stadium, we celebrate the sport we love with respect. Players, teams, and fans all have the power to stand up for what’s right.
