Miami, FL (Friday, December 17, 2021) – Concacaf and FIFA have confirmed the schedule for the region’s men’s FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches taking place during the International Match Window of January 2022.
For the Final Round of Concacaf’s Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 (sometimes referred to as the "Octagonal”), the eight national teams play each other home and away. The Octagonal kicked off in September 2021 and will resume play next year, during the FIFA Match Window of January.

At the end of qualifying, the top three finishing teams will guarantee their participation in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The fourth-placed team will advance to a single-leg FIFA Intercontinental Playoff, scheduled to be played in Qatar, in June 2022.
The draw for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 intercontinental playoffs took place on November 26. The pairings are as follows: AFC Team v. CONMEBOL Team and Concacaf Team v. OFC Team.
