In advance of the 2016 CONCACAF Under-17 Women’s Championship to be held next month in Grenada, the Confederation assists tournament host
With the support of CONCACAF, Weston FC – a South Florida-based club – sent its under-17 women’s team to Grenada for friendlies against the host on February 18 and 21. The collaboration served the purpose of giving the Caribbean nation’s women’s under-17 national team game experience prior to it staging the CONCACAF Under-17 Women’s Championship from March 3-13, 2016.
Founded in 1998, Weston FC strives to maximize youth soccer players’ capabilities, while teaching sportsmanship and respect for coaches, referees, spectators and opponents.
The Weston players were elated for the unique opportunity to compete in both games, which were played at the National Athletics & Football Stadium, one of the venues that will be used for the CONCACAF event.
The CONCACAF Under-17 Women’s Championship promises to be a big test for Grenada and the Confederation is proud to back the Spice Island in its efforts.
