Team Profile

A member of Concacaf since its founding, Antigua and Barbuda has a long footballing history. In fact, the FA’s founding traces back to 1928, something noted on the FA’s badge.

While it has a deep history, Antigua and Barbuda also can point to recent achievements, with the men’s national team making a run to the third round of World Cup qualification in the 2014 cycle, amassing five wins and a draw along the way before falling short of the final round in a group with the U.S., Jamaica and Guatemala.

The senior men’s side also is known for defending the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, getting a pair of wins in the inaugural edition of the Concacaf Nations League and finding one more on the road over Aruba in the 2019-20 campaign to stay in League B. The next challenge will be to get a few more results and qualify for the Concacaf Gold Cup for the first time.

As for the Women’s Senior National Team, the Benna Girls finished atop their group in Women’s Caribbean Cup qualification in 2014 and are ready to seek their spot in the Concacaf W Championship and later qualify for the Concacaf W Gold Cup.
