Team Profile
A full Concacaf member since 2013, Guadeloupe made an impression on fans in the region both before and since it achieved full affiliation.
Les Gwada Boys burst onto the scene in 2007, making a remarkable run to a fourth-placed finish in the Concacaf Gold Cup. That included wins over Canada in the group stage and Honduras in the quarterfinals before finally being sunk by Mexico in the semifinals by a Pável Pardo goal.
The next edition, Guadeloupe again was into the knockout stages, reaching the quarterfinals of the Gold Cup in 2009. In 2011 and 2021, Guadeloupe made its exit at the group stage.
It arrived in the 2021 Gold Cup by virtue of its showing at the 2019-20 Concacaf Nations League, winning all four of its matches to earn promotion to League B and a spot in Gold Cup qualification. Once there, Guadeloupe won a first-round match against the Bahamas, 2-0, and outlasted Guatemala in a penalty shootout, winning 10-9 after the match had finished 1-1.
Governing body Ligue Guadeloupéenne de Football currently maintains the Guadeloupe Division of Honor, a league whose history stretches back to the 1950s and which sends teams to the Caribbean Club Championship.
